Bit Merchant was asked to design a logo and a landing page.
CitizenNet develops natural language technology for analyzing social activity on sites like Twitter and Facebook. We were brought in to help design and develop the user experience. The pioneering nature of this product meant we had very few existing models on which to base our work. Both the product and the website were evolving simultaneously. The result was a highly iterative process in which we were constantly reexamining what worked and what didn't.
Bit Merchant provided information architecture, user experience engineering, website design, branding services, and project management of offshore coders.
Working with CitizenNet was about learning fast and moving quickly. The emphasis was firmly on the conceptual and functional side of design. As product features came and went, the structure of the site evolved in response to new demands and user feedback.
Eklektic is a multi-genre, multimedia entertainment boutique. CitizenNet was referred by a previous client and we were able to move quickly into the design phase of the project.
Eklektic needed a site that would be easy to maintain and work well with either minimal amounts of content, or with lots of content. The goal was (a) to create a site that was understated, (b) to put the emphasis on the content, and (c) to unite the diverse range of Eklektic's offerings.
In addition to website design, we also provided a logo. As with the overall vibe of the site, the goal was to create an identity that would fit with Eklektic's multi-genre, multi-media approach.
Dopetracks is a music collaboration network where vocalists and producers meet and compete for awards and respect.
We were asked to provide a blueprint for redesigning the existing Dopetracks site. The main design stipulations were to provide consistency, flexibility, and ease of implementation. The new look and feel is light on images and fosters lean and clean coding. As the site evolves and expands, the DopeTracks team will be able to use the redesign as a guide for adding new sections and pages.
Tila wanted a site with all the functionality of her existing MySpace page, as well as additional 3rd party and social media features. She made a strategic alliance with Buzznet, and Eric was brought in as the designer.
As designer, Eric's task was to create a highly interactive site that kept with the look and feel of Tila's MySpace page. Her team provided a rough style guide, along with Tila's logo and a few pieces of art (curtains and lace). At Eric's request, we were granted permission to use a photo of Tila by the amazing Randall Slavin.
The initial wireframe Eric received from my Buzznet teammates was architected to give top priority to messaging and advertising. With a few modifications, we settled on a modular layout that would give maximum flexibility and allow Tila's team to reorganize and re-prioritize elements on the site based on changing needs. The main page design was then used as the basis from which developers designed the rest of Tila's site.
